• Artist Biography

• William Meadows (active 1844-1895) William Meadows was born into a family of actors and artists in the early part of the nineteenth century; he started his career as a set painter in the theatre. William was the third son of five from the artist James Meadows Snr. All of whom went on to become painters. With the exception of trips to Venice, William Meadows lived for most of his life around London and painted scenes of the south of England.
