    • As an artist Mosse Stoopendaal was known for his lengthy trips into the Swedish countryside to capture animals living in their habitat. He would make many sketches and then work from these in his studio to create the finished paintings as in this one. Mosse Stoopendaal received his artistic training from his father Georg Stoopendaal who was an accomplished artist. Mosse Stoopendaal became one of Sweden's best-known wildlife painters. He was able to capture the essence of animals as they lived in the wild, often he painted these scenes onto a very impressionistic back-drop isolating the subject and heightening the sense of wilderness. Stoopendaal's work is collected throughout the world and can be seen in several public collections is Sweden. Year 1918.
